'House View'... with choice of fund managers
Managed funds, lack of involvement and narrow choice has led to poor performance of investors funds over the last number of years. The turmoil in world markets exposed irish investors and left them in a very bad position when the damage was done. We must learn from what happened and have a closer look at how we structure future investment portfolios. As advisors we too have to dismantle things and put them back together in order to be able to offer something viable for clients in relation to growing their funds into the future.
We have developed a concept known as our “house view” which is managed on an ongoing basis with a number of leading fund professionals and updated constantly to incorporate themes reflected in the marketplace as being popular with investors worldwide.
This concept selects assets that are showing potential and produces different fund mixes to reflect the particular clients level of risk….it runs from conservative (low risk) to aggressive (high risk) with 4 levels in all. The idea is to achieve a number of different aspects to a portfolio whilst allowing flexibility of movement in and out and we encourage clients that are involved to meet with us on a regular basis to track satisfaction of performance.
The “house view”aims to diversify as widely as possible and to include assets that behave independently in their own right but grow your monies over time. An investor can mix their funds within the different risk levels and can achieve true diversity,flexibility to change,clarity of holdings and follow a plan and achieve focused returns over a selected time frame. This concept has come from the mayhem that was investment markets from 2008 through to 2010 and from the lack of options offered to investors during that period. In Ireland fund managers could not reduce equity exposure ,for example,below certain levels which meant investors remained in equities even though it was clear that it was NOT the place to be….this was the system….it was wrong and we must learn from the experience for the future.
